My Spudman!

Steve did the Spudman triathlon in Burley, Idaho this past Saturday. He did awesome! They first do a 1 mile swim in the Snake River, then bike for almost 26 miles and then finish it off with a 6 mile run - I couldn't have done it! He and a few of his brothers have been training for this for a while (one only a few weeks). It never ceases to amaze me just how far Steve pushes himself, and if he sets a goal for himself, he doesn't stop until he reaches that goal - what a great example!
Steve and 2 of his brothers had planned on going up Friday and camping overnight and then coming home Saturday after the race. Steve and I both decided last minute that it would be nice if me and the kids were there to support and cheer him on. So after re-arranging a few things that I had going, we were set to go. My sister-in-law, Talitha, and I drove up Saturday morning at 5:00 with all the kids so that we could watch the race. It turned out to be really fun and I am glad that we went.
Steve and I turned our weekend into a little mini vacation for us and the kids. We stayed at a hotel in Twin Falls. We took the kids to the Water Falls, the Gorge, and to the new LDS Temple that is just finished, we had a great time with the kids.
Olivia's 2nd birthday was on Sunday, she had to spend a good 5 hours in the car, but after we got home, we had cake and ice cream and plenty of gifts to open - thanks to everyone for the presents, she LOVES them all!

Hi hon,
Just wanted to say thanks for being more than a sister-in-law. I love you. I'm so happy that our girls will have each other too.
Love you.

Go Steve, Go!!
I have to say that those shorts gave me some frightening flashbacks of a certain party involving Steve wearing a pair of black tights, while dancing for my husband. Thanks for the reminder! :)
I hope that DeShawn was able to be there cheering him on.

What a great trip! Sometimes the spur of the moments end up the most memorable.
