ARUBA

Steve, Elsie and I just got back from a week long vacation to Aruba. We went with our friends, Greg and Celeste, and had such a good time. The little island (20 miles long) has a lot of cool sites to see. We went to the light house on top of the hill, bat caves that scared me to death - I didn't realize how much I HATE flying things until I had bats swooping down around me - we also went to a cool rock formation park with Indian drawings, they have natural bridges formed by the waves of the ocean - the larger one collapsed a few years ago, but there is a smaller bridge that is really cool to see how it was formed (the garbage that collects inside it is another story). We saw a blow hole also formed by the ocean, old ruins that are so amazing to see that people could build such structures long ago without modern day technology. We also went to an old church and several beaches, Baby beach was probably the best, it was shallow and warm. The rest of the group snorkeled a few times, but I chose not to, I didn't really enjoy it in Hawaii and didn't care to try it again. We spent a few days just hanging out at the resort, chilaxin' in the lazy river, making friends with all of the iguana that just roam around the pools - Elsie LOVED the lazy river, she took a few long naps on her floaty in the water. Speaking of Elsie, she is such a good baby! I think that she only fussed maybe 3 or 4 times when she got overly tired at bed time. She seriously was an angel! It was so fun to get to spend one-on-one time with her and Steve, she doesn't get much of that with 3 older siblings.
We had so much fun with Greg and Celeste...thanks again for not making a huge deal out of me FINALLY winning at Cities and Knights!!!
My Mom, Celene, Blake and our friend, Ruth, traded off watching the other kids, if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have been able to go, so we are so grateful for all the love and help of family and friends.
