We were in Utah from June 26 - July 5th. It was so good to see our families (there were a few that we didn't get to see). Being the visitors was a little strange in a place that we lived in for so many years, but seeing familiar faces was GREAT!
We had a LAGOON day (of course), a mad game of Round-Ups at the park with the Hanks fam, LOTS of cousin time for both sides of the fam and lots of fun with friends and family. We stayed with Tom and Talitha for the first 5 days and then up to Park City to stay with the Miller family, who were visiting from WA. We did the Alpine Slide, Steve took the boys hiking (LOVED being back in our UT mountains) and a few other fun things while we were up there.
We had a day to visit with our friends, the Daniel's, who were visiting from PA. We went to Cafe' Rio (of course) and to Bridal Veil Falls. We stayed the night at my parents and celebrated the 4th of July in Sandy, with the Lewis fam, we went to my parents annual Ward parade and then to Mimi's for breakfast, had a BBQ in the afternoon - Steve took Livs and Caders up to see his old house and to visit with his friend Mat and his family - and then to fireworks, which were AMAZING! It was a perfect end to send us off to Texas the next day.
We saw a lot of good friends, went to our old Ward in Eagle Mtn, got to see our house in Eagle Mtn - we are so blessed to have such a wonderful family living there that we know are taking care of our home, it's nice to not have to worry about that. Our friends, the Ball family, had us, the Miller's and our old Bishops family (the Hunt's) over for dinner and a few friends stopped by to say hello - it was so great to chat with everyone - just like old times! Our old Stake Presidency stopped by to say hi - it was so good to see those men again that have had such a HUGE influence on our lives. It meant a lot to us to get to see them again :)
It's comforting to know that there are certain people that come into our lives, touch our lives, and although we may not get to see them as often as we would like, we know that we will continue to be close no matter how many miles are between us :) Thank you to everyone that made our vacation so fun!
*Just as a side note...I realized as I went through my pics, I hardly took any pics of our families when we were together, I must have been enjoying the company a little too much to document it all :( There are pics on FaceBook, so if I can figure out how to get those, I will.
