I finally broke my 3 mile run comfort zone! I know that for a lot of you this would be no big deal (all you avid Hanks' runners) but given my crazy medical and health issues in the recent past, this is HUGE!!! I went 4.2 miles tonight, on my treadmill none the less. I threw a towel up over the control panel, put my headphones on and went to it. Steve actually told me earlier today, because I was feeling discouraged again when my friend Brooke told me yesterday that she has started running and she went 5 miles on her first run - totally not fair! Also, I did something to my back 2 days ago running and my right leg and back have been killing for the last day and a half, so that of course only adding to my discouragement. I was having a pity party today saying that I have to keep running when Steve told me to take it easy and walk for the next few days - I am addicted for sure when I can't take 2 days in a row off from running! Anyway, I was going somewhere with all of this. - Steve told me that when I could run 4 miles and feel like I do when I walk, then I should be able to run a marathon - good news for me cause I only have 13 months left to train! :)
So, I did it, my breathing was great (thanks to MaryAnne). I didn't feel tired or want to stop anywhere in between and I feel great now - can you tell I am a little proud of myself? Sorry!

Congrats! I can't run very far at all, so I think it's a HUGE accomplishment. Don't get discouraged I think your dedication and desire is AWESOME!!!
Ok Ashley, you are amazing because seriously, I can't run a block without either being out of breath, my knees hurting, or my ankles locking up on me!!! So, I am here to say that you're doing a terrific job!!! Just use me to compare yourself to in the future instead of Brooke :) Good Luck!!
Way to go!! It's a huge accomplishment! You're on your way to running the marathon - just do that 6 more times and you're there.
