A Day At The Beach

Last week while Nick and Natalie were here, we went down to Galveston to play at the beach and in the ocean - it was a BLAST! The boys LOVED jumping with the waves and burying Jax in the sand (more like thick mud) that soon turned into a mud fight. There is just something calming about being on the beach, close to the ocean - nice and relaxing. The weather was perfect too - 85 and overcast. For some reason, none of us remembered that you do still get sun burned through the clouds! HA! We all went to church the next day looking like we had spent all day at the beach ;)
We also went to a town called Kemah. They have a boardwalk with rides and restaurants. Nick, Nat and I took the boys on the roller coaster called 'The Bullet' and it definitely lived up to its name! Steve took the girls on the Carousel - they loved it!
We ate at this awesome restaurant that has a 3 story aquarium in it, so you feel like you are in the ocean while eating. Of course they have LOTS of fish dishes to choose from...for me, I chose the Salmon. Kind of ironic I thought...eating fish while being entertained watching and naming the fish - I wonder how Bob the giant Grouper is doing this week.
We had so much fun with Nick and Nat here. It was so good to see familiar faces and get to spend some time with them. If anyone else would like to come visit, we promise to be great hosts and take you to do LOTS of fun things!!!

I love going to the Kemah boardwalk...always a good time! And don't worry...we are definitely on the "coming to visit" list. Greg has a trip out to Dallas in July so maybe me and the kids will tag along...
