I know, right? How cool is this pic? The kids LOVED feeding the giraffes!
They have an African Safari area with bongos that the kids thought were cool
This is how Elsie walked around most of the day after seeing the baby elephants
We took the kids to the Houston Zoo to celebrate Steve's bday a few weeks ago. We had SO much fun! Sorry Hogle Zoo, but the Houston Zoo kicks your trash in the awesomeness department.
We spent 4 and 1/2 hours there and only saw about 75% of the animals - good thing we bought a year-long pass! We actually just went again with Nick and Natalie a few days ago when they came to visit, it was pretty toasty that day so we only stayed for 3 hours that time.
None of the animal areas smell gross like other Zoos that I have been to and it seems like they give their animals a lot more space to move around in. That is one thing that I can't stand about some Zoos - the poor animals are already in captivity and they give them NO space to live...totally different subject, I know.
They let people come and feed the giraffes at 2 every day and the proceeds go to helping up-keep the Zoo. So of course we did that and I got a pretty sweet picture of the one that Elsie fed.
We can't wait to go back and discover even more animals that we have missed the past 2 times that we have gone...maybe Grandma and Grandpa Hanks will want to go this week while they are here visiting!

I'm glad you were able to discover a rhinosaurus haha! I feel bad that I taught her the wrong word just because I was trying to say it slow! Elsie takes after her mama in liking the elephants. She is such a mini-you, too cute! I miss those kiddos!
