Back to School

Jax, Cade and Olivia, ready to head off to school this morning!

Jaxen is a "Top Dog" (they are the Bulldogs and call the 4th graders that) this is his last year in Elementary School...WOW! He is growing up WAY TOO FAST!!!

Caden starting 2nd grade - I am hoping this year will be better than the last 2 months of 1st grade...a few tears this morning, but tomorrow is a new day! ;)

Little Livs - the BIG Kindergartner - ALL DAY sure seems like a VERY long time when you are 5 (or the Mother of a 5 year old, sending her off to the big Elementary)

There were a few tears shed this morning - some by Caders who did not want Me and Steve to leave school because he was nervous and scared. I sure hope that he has a better start to tomorrow, this is all feeling WAY TOO familiar (last 2 months of 1st grade)...makes me nervous.
There were also a few tears from the Mama left behind...I feel like I have gotten used to having Jaxen and Caden gone, but now with Olivia being gone ALL DAY too it's going to be a rough adjustment for me. She has been more than ready and WAY excited to start school, it's just me that isn't ready. Maybe if I would have had a half-day Kindergarten to get me adjusted, but NOPE, they're just throwing me in the deep end!
Elsie was curled up in a ball, face down on the floor about an hour after they were gone and when I asked her what was wrong, she looked up and said "Wivi"...made my heart break...she missed the kids SO much today, and although I am sure that she will adjust too, it was sad to hear her say, "Jax...Buzz...Wivi..." all day today as she walked around the house.
The kids are all home now and playing nicely together. I guess that is one benefit to them being away from each other all day ;)

sorry to hear the first day of school didn't go a little more smoothly! hopefully everyone will feel better tomorrow. :) i can see how it could be kinda sad to have so many of your kids gone, but just think how crazy your shopping trip today would have been with all of them along for the ride. there's the silver lining right there!

They are all so grown up! I remember when Olivia was born-it can't be time for Kindergarten already! I am anxious to hear my kids reports on how the first day of school went---Hyrum was pretty nervous (which made me nervous too!!).
