Little Elsie has had quite the adjustment to having her 3 older siblings gone all day! The first few days, she cried when they got out of the car and would walk around the house calling out their names. I guess in hopes that they might be hiding from her somewhere and that they would come out to play with her.
Yesterday she wanted to wear her back-pack to take them to school and after I gave each of them a hug and they walked away, little Elsie hugged my leg and then off she went. I told her that she wasn't going and she frowned and said, "oh..." It made me so sad to see her totally deflated like that.
I am happy to say that the rest of the day yesterday and today were great for her! We walked the kids over to the school (no, we do not live as close as we used to...I have to park the car at a nearby park and then walk them over...trust me, it is MUCH easier to do it that way then to wait in the "car-rider" line) no tears from little Elsie and then we went and played at the splash pad. I hope that she will grow to love her time with just me, because I sure do cherish it! I have realized this week that she is actually a very low-maintenance child when she is by herself. She entertains herself and loves to read books and sing songs - her favorite song right now is Old McDonald, although the only thing she sings is, "E-I-E-I-OOOO" over and over and over! I love to hear her sing, it puts a smile on my face!

I hope she adjusts quickly, that's heartbreaking! We've had the opposite happen at our house, Alec didn't care day one and still doesn't care. Naomi, didn't care day one and now gets upset and tries to quickly get shoes on to go with them. Little girls pouting is just so hard to watch :o)
Awww...sweet girl! Charlotte was very excited to walk in while I was reading this-"LOOK! It's Elsie!!" lol
I loved her waking me up this morning sing eee, iii, eee, iii, oohhh! Love her to death
